Prayer Newsletter
Dear Friends and Prayer Warriors,
With hearts full of gratitude, we share stories of God's powerful work in Iran. Your prayers are deeply valuable, and we thank you for standing with us in faith. As you read these testimonies, we ask that you continue to lift up in prayer those whose lives have been touched by the message of Christ.
The Eyes of Christ Walks the Streets of Iran
Amir, a 9-year-old boy, and his 13-year-old sister Asieh were selling tissues and chewing gum in the metro when one of our team members met them. Sadly, these children were being exploited by their own parents and were living in very harsh conditions.
A compassionate sister named Sima gently began building trust with them and eventually uncovered the heartbreaking truth about their family situation.
Through the sacrificial service of local believers and the support of our prayer network, a plan of rescue and restoration was set into motion:
-
The father was admitted into a rehabilitation center
-
The mother began receiving medical care and counseling
-
Amir and Asieh were re-enrolled in school
Their school registration fees, uniforms, supplies, a portion of the mother’s treatment, and the initial costs for the father’s recovery were all provided through your generous support and faithful giving.
Today, two team members—one working with the children and one with the parents— spend around 6 hours daily offering follow-up, care, and prayer.
Amir, who once looked at the world with fear and distrust, now goes to school with joy and hope. Asieh dreams about her future with a smile. Their father attends addiction recovery sessions with new purpose and determination.
Please pray for this family:
-
For the father’s continued freedom from addiction
-
For the mother’s full physical and emotional healing
-
For the emotional restoration and safety of Amir and Asieh
-
For the dedicated workers who are walking this journey with them
A Book in the Hospital Library Became a Lifeline
Shima brought her child to the hospital for COVID treatment. As she waited to be seen by a doctor, she held her child close—her motherly love surpassing all fear of contagion. With tears in her eyes, she whispered prayers, asking Jesus to heal her little one.
She pulled her Bible from her bag and began softly reading Psalm 23: "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want."
Soon a nurse called her in. But before going, she felt a nudge in her spirit to leave the Bible in the hospital’s small reading corner—believing someone else might find comfort in it.
Later, returning to the waiting area for administrative paperwork, she noticed a woman holding the Bible, tears streaming down her face. With a trembling voice, the woman was reading: "You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows."
Shima sat beside her, gently placed a hand on her shoulder, and said: "God loves you deeply."
The woman, startled yet moved, asked: "Who are you?" And so began a heartfelt conversation about Christ. Right there, the woman gave her heart to Jesus. Today, she is one of Shima’s disciples.
A Path to Freedom
Mehran, a young believer, was walking down the street with a university friend when they came across a homeless man struggling with addiction. The friend scoffed: "Thank God we’re not addicts."
Mehran felt a deep sorrow in his spirit. He silently prayed: "Lord, how can I help this man in a way that speaks both to him and my friend?"
He casually suggested grabbing some sandwiches and intentionally bought three instead of two. His friend was puzzled but didn’t question it.
They walked back the same way and found the man again. Mehran sat down next to him, handed him a sandwich, and invited his friend to join them. Though hesitant, the friend sat down.
The man’s name was Salman. He shared how he used to study engineering, but after his mother died and his father was imprisoned, he dropped out and eventually became addicted and homeless.
Mehran gently asked: "Do you want to be free and return to a normal life?"
Salman said yes—but explained he couldn’t afford rehab. Mehran replied: "Don’t worry. We will help you."
Today, Salman is in a recovery center and has given his life to Christ. What’s more, Mehran’s friend, deeply moved by the kindness he witnessed, also gave his heart to Jesus. His first words as a new believer were: "Jesus is so great—He even cares about addicts… and about me."
